 Alankaran, is a Pune based clothing label, run by a mother daughter trio. This quaint little venture is the brainchild of a passionate textile lover, a believer in dreams and a conserver of age old heritage crafts of India. She began in 2011 from the warmth of her home and inspired by their mothers passion, both the daughters quit their corporate jobs in 2018 to take Alankaran on a new journey.

Alankaran means “Adornment”. Our outfits are adorned with the unique and diverse crafts of India. We are a homegrown brand and it’s our endeavor to revive the indigenous art from the various corners of the country and help the rural artisans sustain themselves. We emphasize on showcasing the handcrafted techniques of our artisans from the interiors of India to the world.

Our specialty lies in pure Hand Block print, Vegetable dyed Kalamkari’s, Indigo’s, Dabu’s, Ajrakh’s, ethnic wear in pure muslins, silks, Banarasi weave and delicate embroidery. We strive to be a sustainable venture, working only with pure fabrics and strictly believe in “saying no” to all that is synthetic.

When asked about the USP of the brand, we at Alankaran have a keen eye for quality, uniqueness and despite being perfectionists, the products we make are pocket friendly. We aspire to stay true to our core values whilst focusing on our customers and artisans in an equal sense.
